The Western Chapter of the Association of Medical Physicists of India (WC-AMPI), established in 2010, represents the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa. Serving as a regional extension of the parent organization, AMPI, the chapter is dedicated to advancing the application of physics in medicine and biological sciences through research, education, and professional collaboration within western India.
Since its inception, WC-AMPI has played a pivotal role in fostering innovation, promoting academic excellence, and enhancing awareness about the critical contributions of medical physics to healthcare. The chapter has organized numerous workshops, seminars, and webinars on specialized topics, including radiotherapy planning, imaging advancements, radiation dosimetry, and radiation safety. These events provide a dynamic platform for professionals to exchange ideas, share expertise, and remain informed about global developments in the field.
As a non-profit organization operating under the auspices of AMPI, WC-AMPI remains committed to driving progress in medical physics, thereby making significant contributions to improving healthcare standards in the region. Our Mission

The Western Chapter of the Association of Medical Physicists of India (WC-AMPI) is dedicated to elevating the professional standards of medical physicists across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa to enhance the quality of patient care and ensure radiological safety.

WC-AMPI facilitates collaboration and knowledge exchange among medical physicists and allied specialists, including radiation oncologists, radiobiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and radiologists. The chapter places particular emphasis on empowering early-career medical physicists working in remote areas by providing access to advanced training opportunities and fostering an environment for open dialogue and idea-sharing.

In close coordination with the ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL PHYSICISTS OF INDIA the parent national body, WC-AMPI endeavors to cultivate a culture of innovation, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration to address the evolving challenges in medical physics.
